Buy the bi (carb)
Published 1 year, 9 months ago in Shopping.Oi, what with them wanting us to use all natural cleaning products and all, does anyone know where you can buy Bicarb Soda in more than 500g / 1kg packages?

I too would like to know. the supermarkets only have the small packets.

Actually, i got a 1kg pack from the supermarket today.
Still doesn’t seem anywhere near big enough…
I am a chef by trade and run my own restaurant. I use bicarb for cooking purposes and also for cleaning at home. I have never been able to purchase in larger quantity that 1 kilogram.
I too would like to be able to purchase in bulk. I spoke to my supplier and he said it is not available in bulk at all due to the small anmount that is used in commercial kitchens, it is not worth bulk buying.

I think swimming pool shops sell it in huge bags - under some other name (might be ‘buffer’ - but it’s really bicarb). You should ask if it’s the same thing though.
